Op Corridor: Joint Operation Disrupts County Lines Activity at Surbiton Station

Here’s a quick update on drugs dealing crime in your area, please be reassured that we’re taking this seriously and are here to help.

Residents may have noticed an increased police presence at Surbiton Station yesterday (Thurs 22nd October) as local officers joined colleagues from the British Transport Police (BTP) for Operation Corridor, a proactive operation aimed at disrupting county lines drug activity and providing reassurance to the travelling public.
The operation took place between 2pm and 5pm and involved officers working alongside a passive drugs detection dog, conducting targeted patrols and engagement activity around the station. The operation resulted in 30 stop searches, several low-level Class B drug possession seizures and the arrest of a wanted individual who was sought for breaching a court order.
In addition to crime prevention activity, BTP and railway revenue protection staff carried out enforcement against fare evasion, issuing penalty fares, reports for process and unpaid fare notices.
The operation also provided a visible policing presence during a period of significant rail disruption, helping to reassure passengers and support station staff during overcrowding caused by service cancellations. Station staff expressed their appreciation for the additional police presence and support.
We were pleased that local representatives, including Councillor Milestone from St Mark's Ward were able to see first-hand the collaborative work being undertaken to tackle criminality and keep the transport network safe.
Working closely with our partners remains a key part of preventing crime, disrupting county lines activity and ensuring Surbiton remains a safe place to live, work and travel.
If you have concerns about drug dealing, exploitation or other criminal activity in your area, please report it via 101, online, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Drug dealing is often linked with violent crime and the exploitation of vulnerable people, and discarded drug equipment can be a health risk and counts as antisocial behaviour.

We’ve put hundreds more officers on the frontlines of community crime-fighting teams, upping visible patrols in the right ‘hot spots’ so we can deter and catch criminals.

We are committed to tackling drug dealing wherever we find it. It forms a key part of our recently published ASB Action Plan. We will keep you updated on our efforts to do this in your area, but if you have any concerns or evidence, it is important you report this as soon as possible.

If you have experienced drug dealing in your area, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.met.police.uk or call the non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org

We want your help to shape the future of policing across London.
